The high performance alternative to flame retardant ABS with NO COMPROMISES
Floreon can confirm that its high-performance PLA is officially a world's first halogen-free alternative to flame retardant ABS, called Therma-Tech. Our halogen-free bioplastic, derived from plants, is suitable for chemical and mechanical recycling and has up to seven times lower carbon footprint than oil-based plastic, making it a safe and sustainable option for electrical goods, toys and automotive use with NO LOSS OF FUNCTIONALITY.
Why was Floreon Therma-Tech developed?
Flame retardant ABS is not recycled today due to concerns about halogen contamination. As the material of choice for the $29.6 billion electronics and electricals industry, this translates to a vast volume of plastic heading to landfills instead of a recycling stream, our findings found there is a need for a more sustainable alternative that maintains all the performance of oil based ABS but is climate friendly.

Flame Retardant Floreon Grade is Certified to UL94V-0
Floreon is a world leader in bioplastic development and our unique patented Therma-Tech grade made from PLA is suitable for durable applications and is certified as a flame retardant grade, to UL94V-0. With similar properties to ABS Floreon Therma-Tech is ideal for injection moulding, electronic toys, consumer electronics and home furnishings with the added benefit of a low carbon footprint and added end of life options.
