Floreon's Unique Flame Retardant PLA.

Floreon Therma-Tech is a PLA based compound intended for durable applications requiring flame retardancy. This grade is a world first and contains a flame retardant, impact modifier, nucleating agent. The material is based on PLA and is designed as a drop in replacement for ABS in injection moulding, extrusion and 3D printing. Drying of the material is recommended to ensure melt stability and limit degradation of the material during processing.

Floreon Therma-Tech Features.

Floreon Therma-Tech is developed for applications requiring a sustainable alternative to oil based plastic requiring fire resistance. Floreon Therma-Tech's durability is comparable to flame retarded ABS. With Floreon Therma-Tech there is no loss of function or performance but with a gain of a lower carbon footprint of up to 7 times.

Floreon is a halogen free alternative to flame retarded ABS and is suitable for both chemical and mechanical recycling. In addition to this, it has up to 7 times lower carbon footprint than ABS.

What Is EN 60335 Electrical Appliance Standard?

The safety requirements for electrical appliances are determined by the standard EN60335 which places a number of performance requirements on the plastics that can be used. These include: 1. Fire resistance (UL94 HB or above). 2. Heat resistance (as determined by a ball indentation test). 3. Impact strengthe (based on drop imapct testing.) Floreon Therma-Tech reaches all of the requirements for EN60335 Electrical Appliance Standard and means it is suitable for use in electronics and products requiring flame retardancy, unique in the bioplastics industry.
