Floreon Therma-Tech Bioplastic Passes Glow Wire Flammability Test to Meet BS EN 60695-2-11 Standard

We're pleased to announce that Floreon Therma-Tech has successfully passed the Glow Wire Flammability test, conducted in accordance with BS EN 60695-2-11:2014, an essential benchmark for materials used in electrical and electronic equipment.
What is the Glow Wire Test?
The Glow Wire test is a widely used safety standard to evaluate how materials react to high temperatures and potential ignition sources. It simulates the effects of heat and fire caused by electrical overloads or faults, by applying a heated wire (up to 950°C) to a test sample and observing whether the material ignites or produces flaming drops.
To pass the standard, the material must not burn for more than 30 seconds after the glow wire is removed, and any droplets must not ignite surrounding materials (typically simulated with tissue paper placed below the sample).
Floreon’s Glow Wire Test Results
Testing was carried out by LIA Laboratory Ltd, a UKAS-accredited laboratory, using two samples of Floreon Therma-Tech (Model R2305-03). The results:

650°C | PASS – No ignition, no flaming drops |
950°C | PASS – No ignition, no flaming drops |
Floreon Therma-Tech passed both temperature conditions, meeting the full requirements of Clause 10 in the standard.
